专家简介：罗勇于2013年12月在德国弗莱堡大学获得数学博士学位，2014年1月到武汉大学工作，现为武汉大学数学与统计学院基础数学系副教授。今年来主要研究兴趣为高级几何偏微分方程，包括Willmore泛函，双调和映射，体积泛函的几何限制变分问题等。
报告摘要：Bienergy is defined to be the L2 integral of the tension field of maps between Reimannian manifolds.Critical points of the bienergy functional are called biharmonic maps and isometric biharmonic maps are called biharmonic submanifolds, which are natural generalizations of harmonic maps and minimal submanifolds respectively. In this talk we will discuss non-existence results of proper biharmonic maps(that biharmonic maps which are not harmonic) when the target manifold is nonpositively curved.
